We suggest as soon as possible! We have limited availability during certain months and suggest to book your Hilton Head Photography session months in advance to be assured your time and date are suitable for you and your family. If however, you decide to book at the last minute, please do reach out to us as we may be able to accommodate you, sometimes we can get you on the schedule the very same day!
As many as it takes! Our sessions are based on time, not the number of images our Hilton Head Photographer captures during your Hilton Head Beach portrait session. It doesn’t cost you any more whether we take 50 shots or 150. Our goal is to provide you with as many quality proofs as possible. If that means you want 30 different poses of the same group or child, just let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you. Remember, this beach portrait is for YOU. We want to give you what you want!
We offer sessions at your location or our favorite beach location on Hilton Head. Our photographers love to photograph at Mitchelville Beach Park on Hilton Head. However, we can come to you, we will discuss this while we talk to you on the phone about your session and preferences. We know which areas on Hilton Head to suggest...and to avoid as some areas are high traffic during the peak summer season. If you decide to do an area at your HOUSE as opposed to the BEACH we plan those sessions out a bit further from sunset depending on the location and tree cover as we need ample ambient light to create images that look best.
For the BLACK LABEL session, we do COME TO YOUR LOCATION. However, if you are requesting beach images, and your location is not on the beach, we can suggest a few other areas that the general public can get access to. That being said, many areas on Hilton Head are gate restricted. If you prefer we photograph you at the home/yard please discuss this in advance as sunset sessions may not be suitable for areas that are surrounded by trees.
Photographers will need to park close to the beach access for any session, or time will be billed if additional time is needed to walk or be driven in a separate vehicle to the beach access. Please plan accordingly.
Check out our blog post for more information.
The lighting is best either at SUNRISE or early evening an hour prior to sunset. We do offer earlier times in the evening but prefer to shoot as close to sunset as possible, however, first come first serve on the hour closest to sunset. The exact time varies depending on the time of year. We will be able to give you an exact time when you book your beach portrait. You can check times sunrise sunset times in advance here.
Don't worry, overcast conditions actually provide excellent lighting for portraits. Since it isn't sunny, you won’t have to squint from the bright sun and there won’t be any harsh shadows on faces or elsewhere. Clouds act as a natural diffuser to give us nice soft lighting. Clouds are our FRIEND :)
Our photographer will be contacting you by phone the day of your session. If it looks like rain, we will call you earlier in the day to see if there is a possibility to move the session up just in case of rain. We can not guarantee that it will rain or there will not be a sunset at your original time, so it is up to the client to make the decision. Many times the rain misses us and we are able to continue with a great shoot. If it does actually rain, we will contact you by phone to reschedule your session for 1--the next available morning session or 2--the next available evening session. This is why we always suggest reserving your date early in the week as there will be more flexibility to reschedule if needed.
Absolutely not. We usually start with the main group or “family” pose. However, when we are done with that pose we will break down your family as many ways as possible. For instance, we will take pictures of just the kids together; the kids individually; the boys with dad; the boys with mom; the girls with mom; the girls with dad; mom and dad, etc., etc., etc. You get the point. Remember, it doesn’t cost you any more for us to take all of these pictures. We want your family beach portrait to reflect every aspect of your family. A basic session is up to 45 minutes so if you have a family of over 10 people, you may want to consider adding on more time when scheduling to ensure you have enough time for all the poses you may want.
Your session includes the images, we do not have a minimum purchase afterwards, however, we do suggest you use the print lab provided on your website for professionally printed portraits.
We will post your images to a secure website for a private viewing. Here you will be able to download all your images to your computer for safekeeping. Your Hilton Head Photography site will be live for one week, we will ask you to provide us with a date that is convenient for you to start this week viewing so you have plenty of time to download and order images. You will be able to share this with your family members so they can download their family portraits as well.
In peak season, images will be released approximately 7 days after your session is completed. M-F only as the office is closed on the weekends. If you need a "rush" please inquire PRIOR to your session.
All sessions include global adjustments for color, contra & clarity. Some sessions include image selections that are retouched with our "basic" retouching service for skin softening, stray hair removal and blemish removal. Additional retouching can be added to any order. We can also add on complex retouching services that will be quoted for removal of eyeglass glare and head swaps.
These can only be fixed through corrective artwork which is done on a per pose basis, the costs usually range from $25 to $60. This will be quoted upon request if needed.
YES! Your website is connected to a professional print lab, we do suggest if you would like quality finished portraits to take advantage of our option to print, however, this is not required.
Please note, we can print up to any size on any medium that is offered by our lab, however, we may not show this in your online cart. If you have a special request for a wall portrait or metal print, please just ask as we can order anything you may need!
YES! We can print up to any size, so please just let us know if you would like a portrait larger than what is offered in the online cart. We suggest wall portraits be retouched before printing as a finished portrait. Please contact us for more information.
Yes, we do. We accept Visa & Master Card.
This is up to you! If you are willing to jump in the water at the end of your session we can take some fun photos in the water. We do not suggest this until the END of your session as water on clothes will show. Sand will stick to your legs more if you are wet. Please be aware if you do so, we are not responsible for items you may have in your pockets...please leave all electronics in the hotel!
